I help lots of businesses tell their impact stories, but what is mine? I support product-based and heritage-rich businesses with high environmental impact embed social & environmental responsibility into every area of the business using practical roadmaps, decision-making frameworks and leadership alignment – enabling lasting positive change, not just surface-level fixes.

Early moments that shaped my path:

● My parents dedicated their lives to social impact: my mum as a teacher supporting students in difficulty, my dad as a dentist working in prisons. Their values – fairness, empathy, service – were the lens through which I first understood the world.

● At 18, a summer in Mexico & Ecuador opened my eyes to inequality and the stark gap between rich and poor. Later, my year abroad deepened my love for Latin America – the colours, music, sun, art, freedom – but also the inequality. I wanted to act.

● I initially explored human rights work, but realised my path needed to align with both my sensitivity and my desire for tangible, sustainable change.

● A Masters in Latin American Development led me to sustainable development, connecting childhood memories of rural Spain to a bigger purpose: caring for people and the planet.

Complexity, trade-offs, and frameworks:

Working in sustainable development in Mexico, I learned that solutions are never simple. Helping farmers shift to eco-friendly techniques improved biodiversity and water retention – but required patience, trust, and local adaptation. Supporting women to start micro-enterprises was deeply rewarding, yet progress was uneven and context-dependent. Later, at Innovate UK, I saw how innovation could scale solutions – but scaling also introduced trade-offs: speed vs. impact, breadth vs. depth, profit vs. purpose.

Stakeholder opinion has shaped everything

Whether farmers, female entrepreneurs, innovators, or business leaders, the people I’ve worked with have always shaped the way I’ve worked with them. I’ve always tried to listen, adapt, and co-create solutions.

Progress and gaps

Since discovering the B Corp movement in 2017, it’s been a lightbulb moment: a framework that unites social and environmental impact with business growth. But the work is ongoing. Some businesses move quickly toward change; others wrestle with legacy systems. Not everything works perfectly, and I always acknowledge that with everyone I work with.

Grounded in lived human experience

This is what supporting businesses to become socially & environmentally responsible means to me: It’s about supporting companies that want to do good but aren’t always sure how, while remembering that real lives, communities, and ecosystems are at the heart of every decision.
